What to write …

Some people say it is pretty easy to have a blog. And that they will write postsevery day. Well believe me people. It isn’t that easy! It is hard to come up with
idea’s to post. Of course, you can make your blog like a diary and post what you
do every day. But well, my days aren’t that exciting. I mean, I am not a dazzling
super agent with a PHD in kicking someone’s ass. And neither am I a super hero. I
am just your average person. Working by day, studying at night and not much
kicking ass.
A lot of people write reviews about movies, gadgets, thinks they build. That is
really nice, if you have the time to build all those stuff or have a new gadget
every week. And well, for a movie you can just Google for a review. Some people
collect reviews and building instructions. So that is also done, and I don’t see
the fun to do something that somebody already is doing. That’s why I try to keep
a unique blog. Of course I will post what I will be thinking, and sometimes even
do a little diary post IF something interesting happened.
Often I also find a nice YouTube video and then I post these. For some strange
reason people like those.
Lately I found out I could also make pretty video recordings with my phone and
uploaded these to YouTube and then posted them also on here. But then again. What
should I record? I am not the person to make a so called Vlog (Video Blog). I
mean, it is fun to record stuff but to make a recording about myself is not
something I am waiting for. Sometimes I get a new toy, and of course it is fun to
make a recording of this. But yea, as I said earlier. How often do you get
gadgets or toys.
Anyway I don’t want to have this post to look like a rant about what to post.
Actually I wanted to ask around what people want to see me post. I already asked
a few people and got a bunch of nice answers. Some of these were really good,
while others were like … ‘Eeuuhh, okay’. A lot of people already like what I am
posting so far and like to see more stuff like that. Just wondering which stuff
they mean. Someone else told me to just post and write what I want, and don’t
worry about who is reading it or how many readers I got. Or even worry about what
I write, just write about what is going on in your head.
Well, to write down what is in my head is a hard thing to do as my head is a
messy bunch of weird data flowing around unsorted. And well, you get the picture.
It is just hard to describe sometimes what I am thinking.
But I am changing subject again. I think I will just leave it like this. A bit of
a ramble post about what I am thinking and some other stuff. I hope the ones that
do read this understand what I am talking about.

It is that time of the year again. The time where some people go decoration crazy. The green and red colors come out again. Together with the silver and gold balls. It is Christmas!
Now don’t get me wrong, I am not Mr. Scrooge. I don’t hate Christmas. But I am not the person to decorate either. The fact is mostly cause of me selling Christmas trees at work that I can’t see a single tree anymore. That doesn’t mean that my parents can’t go decorate crazy. Luckily they have a fake Christmas tree, but it still looks pretty. Also the outside gets a complete makeover. Which means a lot of lights.
Well, I can keep talking about it but why not show a few nice pictures.
The front looks pretty with lights along the iron fence and a little reindeer that lights up.
The door has some Christmas stuff.
Awwwww, pretty fake candles in the window.
Who ever said Heineken and Christmas doesn’t work together is so wrong!
The Christmas tree in all it’s glory!
And ofcourse the stal with the wise man.

I would …

I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the souce code.
How often don’t you feel like you want to change the world? Haven’t you wanted things to go easier with less problems. Wouldn’t it be nice if the world we live in were just a big chunk of code? Wouldn’t that be easy when we have a problem? A few lines of code changed and viola, problems gone!
Any way, that is just me rambling

There are a bunch of cool CNC projects out there that help you build your own CNC machine. But what Adran did is a nice option. Instead of a normal CNC machine he made a Dremel Duplicator.
I have a Dremel and have been buying various router bits for it lately. I was thinking that I could buy one of those Dremel Router tables but, that would be kind of limiting. So then I thought what about building a Dremel Duplicator. It would have three axes and could be utilized much like a CNC Router with the added advantage of copying an existing object.

Ever wanted to have your own CNC machine. Tom McWire made a computer controlled milling machine and put the the information on instructables. This machine puts the real power of a computer controlled machine into the hands of the average human. The machine is made of parts that can be bought in almost every local retail store. And ofcourse is cheap in purchase. The creator said you could have it up and running well under $200. The CNC machine is small enough to be placed on your desk but ofcourse you could also make a bigger one without sacraficing accuracy (too much). The machine can be used for 2 Dimentional engraving and PC board etching and 3D milling and modeling in foam, wood, plastic and various other soft materials.
Here a vid of the build.
Here a video of the machine actually in action.

The wonderfull world of, coffee!

One of the important things in life without that people actually realise it. Coffee, the beverage that keeps a lot of people awake working till late in night. The drink that you can almost get every where. That dark drink that you see all those builders drink in the construction. That drink which you thought was grose when young but now can’t live without.
The one and only essential of life, COFFEE! Yes, it is true. Coffee is and always will be a essential of life. Well to be honest I don’t know 100% if this is true or right. But there are a few things I can tell you about this subject.
Coffee is the key to a long life.
According to Professor Gary Williamson, from the department of food science at Leeds University, who has produced a list of 20 “lifespan essential” foodstuffs. He said that foodstuffs on the list, which is dominated by fruits and vegetables, can also help to slow down the ageing process by helping to protect cells from the natural damage that occurs over time.
And guess what is also on the list? Yes, COFFEE!! (Also on the list is dark chocolate, yay!)
Coffee the most consumed beverage.
There are around 400 billion cups of coffee consumed worldwide, this making coffee the world most popular consumed beverage.
Coffee consumed.
Almost 91% of coffee consumed is taken at breakfast, and sometimes actually is breakfast. About 79% of coffee consumed is served from the homes of coffee drinkers. The second place where coffee is most consumed is in the workplace. A coffee drinker averages 2-3 cups of coffee a day.
Coffee historical facts.
‘Kaveh Kanes’ were the names of the first coffee houses set up in Mecca, which was the main place of trade for the berries.
Mocha is the name of the sea port that was a route to Mecca, which is where trades of coffee took place. Coffee was a well guarded commodity and it was not allowed for any one to take fertile coffee plants out of the country.
An Arab author named Scheha Beddin, the Mufti of Aden were the first to drink coffee. They lived during the 9th century.
Damascus, Syria, and Istanbul first opened coffeehouses around the 1530’s. It wasn’t until 1554 that Turkey opened theirs.
“Bunnu” is the Arabic word for coffee bean.
The Dutch were the first to bring coffee out of Mocha and introduce it to the rest of the world. Their first cultivation was in Ceylon, now known as Sri Lanka, in 1658.
An English chemist named George C. Washington, who lived in Guatemala, in 1906, invented the first instant coffee called “Red-E-Coffee.” In 1909 his product hit the market.
Some small funny facts.
The term “Cuppa Joe” came from “G.I. Joe,” who always had his coffee.
“Cowboy coffee”? It was said they made their coffee by putting ground coffee into a clean sock and immerse it in cold water and heated over campfire. When ready, they would pour the coffee into tin cups and drink it.
Turkish bridegrooms were once required to make a promise during their wedding ceremonies to always provide their new wives with coffee. If they failed to do so, it was grounds for divorce! (Ouch!)
Special studies conducted about the human body revealed it will usually absorb up to about 300 milligrams of caffeine at a given time. About 4 normal cups. Additional amounts are just cast off, providing no further stimulation. Also, the human body dissipates 20% of the caffeine in the system each hour.
Espresso has 1/3 of the caffeine of a regular cup of coffee.
